I am starting on my site analysis today and thought it would be good to visit the site and walk around a bit since the weather is so nice. Here are some photos I took from various points north of the river looking at my site. I was also able to go to the top of the Devon Finish Line Tower and snap a few photos from there as well. In all photos my site is highlighted red. While at the boathouse today I got to talking with the guy at the front desk about various things happening in the area and a part of the scope of the future of the boathouse district. I talked about wanting to design a bridge to allow foot traffic back and forth thus allowing people to have access to both sides of the river for rowing events also.
These are the main public views I am going to design as the front of by building. The other side is where the main driving entrance is and that will also be addressed but the rest of that side is along the rail road tracks so I am seeing various trees/burms hiding that and blocking the noise of the trains.
-Spelling edits: berm and first sentence.
-In the article from Texas Architecture that I forwarded to you, the student definitely had a thesis (right or wrong) but a thesis. He believed that biking routes should have their own air space. Can you begin to derive your thesis?
-Riding around Lake Hefner, I did see the white bike memorial.
